IS ACTIVATED COCONUT CHARCOAL THE “REAL” NEW BLACK?

Charcoal Cocktails

Activated Coconut Charcoal has risen in popularity in recent times due to it’s notable health benefits.

Yes, it’s black. No, it doesn’t taste like coconuts. It’s actually odourless and tasteless and is derived from the husks of coconuts. It maintains a high alkalinity, which enables it to fight infections and bacteria. It’s porous surface has a negative charge which attracts positively charge gas and toxins causing them to bind to it. These chemicals and toxins are absorbed into it’s pores which is why it’s used in emergency rooms for emergency toxin removal.

Some of the many other health benefits from this charcoal include detoxification, oral health, kidney and liver support, assistance for bloating and gas, skin health and much more!

IT’S TEA COCKTAIL O’CLOCK

Gin and Tonic Tea Cocktail One Drink A Day

We’ve been so very fortunate this year to collaborate with Brisbane based Drink Stylist extraordinaire, “One Drink A Day” (Oh the joys of meeting new friends on social media!). We first “met” Heebs on Instagram and since then we’ve been absolutely amazed by his incredible drink creations. His artistry is simply mind blowing and we’ve been honoured to have him use some of our loose leaf tea blends in his cocktails. (We’re very tempted to try recreating some of his recipes but haven’t quite worked up the courage yet, fearing an epic fail..!)

One of the many reasons we love tea so much is it’s versatility. There are so many variations, flavours and uses that there is literally a tea or herbal tisane for every mood and every occasion. Enter Heebs. Who else would have thought to combine Jasmine Buddhas Tears into a cocktail? Or our Apple Cinnamon herbal blend for that matter.

Most recently, our Berry Delicious fruit blend featured in a delicious Gin ‘n Tonic recipe on One Drink  A Day’s blog and it worked a treat!

Tea Cocktails – The Best Of Both Worlds

Green Paradise Vodka Fizz —  Collaboration with Teatini

You all know how much we love tea.

We’ve baked using tea, made scones, smoothies and chia pudding using Japanese Matcha Green Tea, we’ve even experimented with slow cooked Silverside using our herbal ayurvedic blend, Tulsi Detox.

As creative as we’ve tried to be with our tea love, one thing we had never even considered making was….. TEA COCKTAILS! Why had we not thought of this??

One of the many benefits of engaging on social media is encountering lovely like-minded people who love sharing their gifts and talents. Imagine how excited we were when we met the delightful girls from Teatini on Instagram! These lovely sisters from Sydney hand craft cocktail creations to combine their two loves – tea and cocktails. By infusing loose leaf tea into their recipes they’ve managed to produce beautiful and unique cocktail ideas which are well worth a try! Their IG gallery truly is a sight to behold

We’ve been very excited to have Teatini use our Green Paradise green tea blend to create yet another cocktail to get the taste buds tingling. Here’s the recipe courtesy of the girls, why not give it a try?!
